Let’s make this simple: God is Love.
Anyone promoting hate, especially hate of a person or group of persons on the basis of their color, gender, ethnicity or (yes, brothers and sisters) their sexual orientation is not promoting righteousness, as God defines righteousness.
This is true whether they call themselves “Reverend” or not, and it is true whether or not they have a string of letters after their name or have been elected or appointed to high office.
Attacking others and destroying their property on the basis of the real or perceived injustices allegedly or actually perpetrated by other people who happen to physically resemble or share some other characteristics of the targets of the attack is wrong and unjustifiable by any reasonable secular law or system, and is unjust, unmerciful, and therefore evil by God’s law (see Micah 6:7-9).
As a self-identified “Christian” man I must try to even limit my remarks about people who don’t believe as I do or who engage in actions of which I do not approve or the scriptures denounce: “9(b)…the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. 10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings; 11 yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from the Lord. 12 But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish.” -- 2 Peter 2:10-12 (NIV)
Even warriors are handicapped and falling into error if they let their duty to oppose, even violently oppose, malefactors devolve into hatred of all who resemble their enemies.
Pray for revival and awakening to come out of these most recent attempts by the “father of lies” to divide and conquer the world thru the actions of his children (see John 8:44).
